Terms of Use for Vowed

Welcome to Vowed. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Vowed mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use Vowed. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

2. How Vowed Works

Vowed lets you set personal goals, "stake" a virtual in-app currency ("coins") on those goals, and prove completion with a live photo taken through the app's camera. Other users ("jurors") review your photo and vote on whether it proves the goal was completed. If the majority of jurors approve, your staked coins are refunded to your balance. If your submission is rejected, the deadline passes without proof, or you fail to complete your goal, staked coins are not refunded.

Vowed also offers an AI Coach feature that provides suggestions and plans based on the messages you send it, and a Duel feature that lets you and another user each stake coins on a shared goal.

3. Virtual Currency ("Coins")

Coins are a virtual, in-app currency with no real-world monetary value. Coins:

• Cannot currently be purchased with real money or exchanged for cash, gift cards, or any other item of value.
• Have no cash value and are not redeemable outside the App.
• May be granted to you free of charge as part of our beta program, subject to limits we may set and change at any time.

We may introduce a real-money redemption feature in the future. If we do, additional terms will apply, and you will be notified before any such feature becomes available to you.

4. Jury Review System

When you submit a proof photo, it is reviewed by a small number of randomly selected other users. Decisions are made by majority vote among the assigned jurors. By using Vowed, you acknowledge that:

• Jury decisions are made by other users, not by Vowed, and while we aim for fairness, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any individual jury decision.
• You may appeal a rejected proof, which will be reviewed by our team.
• If a proof is not reviewed within 24 hours, it will be automatically approved.
• Voting dishonestly (e.g. consistently voting against majority community decisions) may result in a temporary restriction from jury duty.

5. Content Standards and Photo Submissions

You agree not to submit photos that are sexually explicit, violent, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate. All submitted photos are automatically screened using third-party image moderation technology before being shown to jurors; flagged photos are automatically rejected. You may also report inappropriate content submitted by other users.

If a piece of content receives multiple reports, the content owner's account may be suspended from the App for a period of time. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these content standards, at our discretion.

6. Duels

Duels let two users stake coins on the same goal, each independently responsible for their own progress. Duels:

• Require an entry fee (a percentage of the staked amount, capped at a maximum shown to you before you create or join a duel) that is charged upfront and is not refundable, regardless of outcome.
• Refund only the staked amount (not the entry fee) if you complete your side of the duel.
• Do not transfer coins between the two participants — if one participant fails to complete their side, their staked coins are retained by Vowed and are not paid to the other participant.

7. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you: submit inappropriate content, receive multiple content reports, repeatedly vote dishonestly as a juror, attempt to manipulate the coin system, or otherwise violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen; this permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. AI Coach

The AI Coach feature uses a third-party AI model to generate suggestions based on your messages. Suggestions are provided for informational and motivational purposes only and do not constitute professional medical, fitness, nutritional, or psychological advice. Free accounts are limited to a set number of AI Coach messages per month; unlimited messaging may be offered as part of a paid Premium subscription.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Vowed is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that jury decisions, coin balances, or feature availability will be free from mistakes. We work to fix errors when they occur but are not liable for any loss of virtual coins resulting from technical issues, bugs, or user error.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vowed and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of virtual currency, data, or goodwill.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
